| Green 1 |
This is for the young
child, 3-5 years old who does not go under the water for
more than 15 seconds. They may or may not take a quick
dip under water. |
| Green 2 |
This is for the young
child 3-5 years old who is very comfortable going under
water but is not yet floating or swimming on their own.

| Green 3 |
This is for the young
child, 3-5 years old who can front float with a kick and
swim without help. |
| Green 4 |
This is for the young
child, 3-5 years old who is ready to learn or who has
already begun to learn freestyle breathing to the side
and can do a back float with a kick alone. |

| Red
1 |
This
is for the older swimmer, 6 years and older, who does
not feel comfortable going under water. Beginner swimmers
at this level usually progress quickly thru the water
acclimation skills, moving into the more advanced levels.

| Red
2 |
This
is for the older swimmer, 6 years and older, that can
front float, front float with a kick, and swim some arm
strokes. They will be introduced to freestyle breathing
to the side at this level. |
| Red
3 |
This
is for the older swimmer, 6 years and older, who has been
introduced to freestyle breathing to the side but still
requires a lot of instructor help. They may or may not
have their own back float with a kick. |
| Red
4 |
This
is for the swimmer who is almost proficient with freestyle
breathing to the side, can back float with a kick alone
and may or may not be able to tread water alone. |

| Blue 1 |
This level is for the
swimmer who can swim the width of the pool by themselves
with freestyle breathing to the side. They can tread water
alone and swim backstroke. |
| Blue 2 |
This is for the swimmer
who is proficient in freestyle, backstroke, and elementary
backstroke. They will cover refinement of freestyle, backstroke,
and elementary backstroke, and will learn breaststroke,
butterfly, and diving. |
| Blue 3 |
This is for the swimmer
who is very proficient in all of the above and is working
to achieve proficiency in breaststroke, butterfly, diving,
and flip turns. They may need to build endurance for the
Purple level . |

| Purple |
This
is for the swimmer who has achieved the requirements of
the Blue 3 level
and is ready to learn and practice training skills associated
with those of a swim team. It may be used to prepare for
a swim team or merely for exercise and/or strengthening
the swimming skills. (Classes will be created for this
level several times a year.) |
