Future Expansion

Barb Graeve Swim School was established in 1998 as Beck-Graeve Swim School. Barb wanted to quit her full time teaching position to be home with her family but needed some type of income. Tom Beck, Barb’s brother, wanted to be a full time swimming coach, but needed something to supplement a coaches’ salary.

In the fall of 1998, and with a great leap of faith, the teaching position was resigned and BGSC began with 6 swimmers that first month! In 6 months there were 60 swimmers. And now Tom is kept busy full time with his own competitive swim club, GOAL, and the swim school has become Barb Graeve Swim School, working with over 1,000 swimmers a year.

Both have outgrown the facilities that they are using and a dream that began over 10 years ago to have their own pool is becoming more of a reality. The process has begun.
